choosing to start again....

For everyone who started following my weight loss journey in February 2023, I'm so sorry that I dropped off at just WEEK FOUR! As you know, weight loss is a HARD & is a super LONG grueling process. For me to lose this weight it will take over a year to hit my weight goal. When I started this, we had no idea the year we would face. 2023 was difficult for our family. It seemed like everything just hit so HARD.... BUT GOD! He is so faithful to provide, and He carried us through all that hard stuff. I'm finally at a point where I'm ready to start trying to shed some of this weight again. The great news is... I have maintained my weight so I'm not "starting over" I'm basically just picking up where I left off.


MY FOCUS: My focus hasn't changed… My goal is to try to start drinking 1 gallon of water per day & Track everything I eat on the Lose It! App while making better food choices. My plan is to try to eat healthy meals for breakfast and lunch and then portion control dinner so I don't torture my family through this process. lol.....


HERE ARE THE DEETS:

My Start Weight (Feb 8, 2023): 276 lbs.

My Current Weight (April 3, 2024): 257.7 lbs.

TOTAL WEIGHT LOST to date: 18.3 lbs.


CHANGES I'VE MADE THAT HELPED KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF:

In April 2023 we FINALLY found our home church, soon after I started feel God working in me to stop drinking alcohol all together. I was drinking a few glasses of wine a few nights a week, on days that were particularly stressful. Stopping this has helped me maintain my weight. I also have decided to give up coffee -- or should I say creamer with a splash of coffee. I will still have coffee from time to time, but I have swapped it out for flavored tea sweetened with honey. Other than those simple changes, I've not done anything different.

I hope that sharing this process with you will keep me motivated and moving forward, and to encourage you wherever you are. Maybe you aren't struggling with health and wellness, but you might know someone who is... and if so, I hope this gives you a glimpse into their journey and that you would be an encouragement to them. Dear Lord, I pray for myself as well as anyone joining me on this journey. I pray for mental stability. I pray that you would give us the strength to continue to make the changes that we need to make and to STICK to them. Help each of us to make good food choices even when the going gets hard. Bring restoration to our whole being as we learn to eat with our health in mind. Help us with our self image as our bodies change on this journey. Let us learn to love ourselves where we are even TODAY. Bring wisdom and truth to each of our minds, and help us to plan our daily food and to enjoy it. Lord, bless our efforts with sustainable weight loss. Father, We long to be free of this difficulty in our lives, and we look to you, you are our supporter, our comforter and our helper. Thank you for your constant love. AMEN!
