It's hard to put to words the difficulty of the trials my family has had to face and overcome these last several months…. Yet GOD PROVIDES! God gave us such peace through it all. The testimony God crafted…. Whew! It started December 15th (the day after our wedding anniversary) when we realized we had some plumbing issues. We had no idea what was coming though….. My husband and daughter were sick over Christmas, so we didn’t get to see family for the holidays, then my Grandmother passed away the day after Christmas. My family came in for her funeral and while we were preparing to lay her to rest on Jan 2nd and the 3rd, the plumbers were jackhammering across my kitchen and living room. I got a bladder infection at that time. Then Monday Jan 6th, our family dog passed away in my arms; completely devastating our family. We spent the week grieving until sickness struck again. Jan 9th, I got sick and a few days later was diagnosed with RSV. Zoey and Elijah later caught it, and we were stuck home for 16 days. It was one thing after another, but God provided throughout the entire situation. When we needed peace, he gave us a peace that was unexplainable. Something you can't put to words; you just have to experience for yourself. He provided financially when we couldn't see a way, He made a way! When we needed healing, he healed. He is our provider! He is Jehovah Jireh!
When we face trial after trial, it’s easy to wonder, God, where are You? But just like He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fire in Daniel 3, He is with us in ours. He never promised life would be easy, but He did promise we would never be alone.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." — Isaiah 43:2
This season felt like a wilderness, much like what the Israelites experienced after leaving Egypt. They faced hunger, thirst, and exhaustion. They had no idea how they would survive, yet God provided manna from heaven and water from a rock (Exodus 16-17). He gave them what they needed, one day at a time. Looking back, I can see how God provided for us too. Whether it was strength to get through each day, peace in the middle of grief, or simply the fact that we had each other, God sustained us.
"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." — Philippians 4:19
Perhaps the greatest reminder is Job’s story. Job lost everything—his health, his wealth, his family—yet he held on to his faith. He didn’t understand why he was suffering, but he never turned his back on God. In the end, God restored Job and blessed him even more than before (Job 42:10).
Suffering often doesn’t make sense in the moment. But when we look back, we see that God was working through it all. He is the God who restores, who turns mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11), who brings beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).
Even through the loss, the sickness, and the chaos, God never stopped being good. And He won’t stop now. If you’re in a season where trials keep coming, take heart. God has not forgotten you. He is walking through the fire with you. He is providing for you in the wilderness. And He is preparing a redemption story that you can’t even imagine yet. Lay your burdens at His feet. Hold on to His promises. And trust that, in His perfect time, He will provide.
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." — Exodus 14:14

Questions to Ponder

What burdens are you carrying today that you need to surrender to God’s provision and timing?
How can you turn your past struggles into a testimony that encourages others? How can you encourage someone else who is walking through a difficult season right now?

I’m so sorry for all the struggles that you & your family went through, but praising God for using these trials to bring Him glory! It makes all the pain & suffering worth it when you can look bad and see how you relied on God’s provision. What a wonderful testimony!
