I have recently had it on my heart to start memorizing more scripture and I think understanding the meaning and context of each verse is important as well as the creative side. Each category helps to lock that scripture into memory. I researched to find the best ways to memorize scripture and came up the 7 steps you will find in this lesson. Over time these steps may change and/or be added to, as I find what works. I would also love to hear feedback from you so that I can implement changes that YOU find beneficial as well. This month we are focusing on Romans 12:2. A friend reached out and asked me to create a lesson around this verse because it was heavy on her heart and mind. I was so excited to put this together because this verse really calls us to evaluate ourselves and it did exactly that for me. Romans 12:2 speaks about being "transformed by the renewing of the mind," marking a shift in Paul's letter from deep theological teaching to practical Christian living. Throughout the book of Romans, Paul systematically explains the gospel and its impact on believers' lives. He wrote this letter to introduce himself to the Roman church and provide them with a strong foundation in the faith. Paul urges believers to respond to God's mercy by offering themselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to Him. This means rejecting worldly influences and embracing a transformed mind, aligning with God’s kingdom rather than the world’s ways.
I pray that through memorizing this scripture you, too, will have this verse to cling to whenever you feel like the worldly influences are blinding you. Learn the context, the meaning behind the verse and dig deep..... go deeper than what's just in this lesson..... so that you really get the root meaning and then, when you hide it in your heart, you will feel closer to The Lord. The God who sees you as His perfect creation.
